Made in China, not Japan, and enamled
Listing page describes this as a Japanese nabe pot, but it is made in China. It is enameled, which the listing does not say. There is no guarantee that this product isn't going to poison you. When contacted, seller said that I would have to pay shipping and there will be a 20% "restocking fee"...what BS. These pots are not cheap, and there's no reason that they need to be made in China.
Cast iron nabe pot
This is a great bowl. However the wooden lid is not ideal for covering the food. It is coated with a stain that when heated, gives off and odor. I'm not sure if it's safe or not.
Shabu Pot
Nice pot for the price. Arrived quickly and in good shape. I will be making my own cover out of maple, as the one that comes with is some kind of light stained pine.
