Chasseur Cast Iron 37300EG French Brasier with Lid, Eggplant

Quality cookware with relatively few reviews
I recently decided to replace a non-stick 12" skillet with something less Teflon-y, and I wanted to upgrade my cookware at the same time. I wanted to try ceramic coated cast iron, but didn't necessarily want to spend Le Creuset money for a 10-12" skillet or brasier.

I researched this brand (Le Chasseur) and while I found the lack of online reviews (and the lack of knowledge about the brand in cooking stores) kind of disconcerting, the few reviews I did find were generally positive. I was able to purchase both this piece, and an on-sale Le Creuset (a 3.75qt deep skillet) and compare.

Here is what I found:
- the weight is comparable between both pieces (they are different styles, but generally similar)
- the eggplant wash on the Le Chasseur is slightly darker and has a gentler gradient than the Le Creuset
- the quality of the lids on both pieces are comparable, including the oven-safe knob
- the quality of the cookware itself...
